Banish Gout by Milk

Consume skim milk (nonfat) has been known for a long time has many benefits, especially to lower cholesterol levels. In fact a recent study published in the British Medical Journal and the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, suggested that they were sick of uric acid to consume skim milk on a regular basis in order to reduce the symptoms of this disease.
In the study researchers found that the consumption of skim milk fortified with two compounds, milk-fat extract (G600) and glycomacropeptide (GMP), could be a natural solution to reduce the common symptoms such as pain, which usually causes pain and discomfort.
This finding is not the first scientific study that focuses on the relationship between dairy product consumption and uric acid. Previous research found that people with little or rarely eat dairy products have a higher risk of developing gout in later life.
The researchers also observed from the experimental study of the risk of recurrence in 120 participants who had gout, and found that all gout sufferers experience at least two times a recurrence during the study period of four months.


To see the effect of milk consumption of uric acid, researchers divided the participants into three groups. The first group: participants diberik skim milk powder, the second group consumed lactose milk powder, and a third group was given skim milk fortified with G600 and GMP.
Each month, participants examined the health conditions and symptoms and additional visits that may occur. After that the experts make daily patient health records and how often they experience pain.
The study results showed no serious changes related to relapse and pain after the first three months. But one month later, a change began to be seen clearly in the group given the fortified skim milk (G600 and GMP), which showed some reduction in symptoms of gout. In fact, scientists have found an improvement in tender joints and the amount of uric acid in the urine of three groups of study participants (G600-fortified skim milk and GMP).
"This is the first randomized controlled trials of dietary interventions reported in the management of uric acid, and showed that daily intake of skim milk powder fortified with GMP and G600 can reduce the risk of recurrence," the researchers said.
The authors highlight that a diet low-fat milk with skim milk enriched with additional compound (GMP and G600) will not lead to weight gain, serious complications or other side effects.
